Job Description

We have an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned Application Manager / Director to support the application, specification, and sales of our client’s automation software and related Power Systems Services. This is a global executive position that is focused on software solution selling.

We require a proven ability to travel extensively, to manage multiple long-term projects, and to communicate effectively with customers, sales people, and our client’s Product / Service personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide comprehensive technical support for all accounts to identity the appropriate software solution. Specific existing and evolving solutions include distribution self-healing and volt-var optimization.
  • Assist in generation of targeted proposals and present proposals as agreed between Sales Representatives or Territory Managers.
  • Provide first-level follow-up on leads generated by marketing programs and follow-up support for each account.
  • Support or initiate customer meetings as agreed between Sales Representative and Territory Managers.
  • Support regional promotional activities such as Expos, Lunch and Learns, and similar activities with customers and technical consultants/specifiers.
  • In conjunction with the Sales Representatives and Territory Managers, drive our client’s IntelliTeam products specifications with utility customers and consulting engineers.
  • Provide regular feedback to Strategic Solutions product managers regarding proposals, accounts, and competitive situations.
  • Provide first-level technical assistance for software applications and customer requirements during installation and commissioning of IntelliTeam products.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four-year engineering or other technical degree (EE/ME preferred).
  • Ability to travel extensively, 50-75+% required.
  • 5-7 years’ experience with selling software solutions.
  • At least 2 years of working experience within the Electric Utililty market
  • Strong background and exposure selling within the volt/var space
  • High proficiency with computer software and applications (MS Office, etc).
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken, to clearly present ideas in a variety of forums.
  • Occasional walking of moderate distances (1 Mile) during travel, site visits, or our client’s facilities.
